Short Description

Shelly 2L Gen3 is a compact, two-channel smart switch designed for precise lighting control. A standout feature is that it doesn't require a neutral wire to operate—however, it needs a Shelly Bypass 1L/2L Gen3 connected in parallel to the load at the first channel.

The device allows users to effortlessly control their lighting setups via smartphone, tablet, PC, or integrated home automation systems. It can function standalone on a local Wi-Fi network or integrate with cloud-based home automation services. As long as the device remains connected to a Wi-Fi router and the internet, users can access, control, and monitor their lighting configurations from anywhere.

Designed for space efficiency, Shelly 2L Gen3 fits snugly into standard electrical wall boxes, behind light switches, or in tight spaces. Its embedded Web Interface enables easy monitoring, control, and fine-tuning of device settings.

Note: This device is Matter-ready and can gain this functionality via firmware update.

Main Features

  • Perfect to retrofit! No need for a neutral wire. Power and control lights or appliances using only a live wire.
  • 2 channels! Control two separate lights or devices independently.
  • Minimum bulb wattage: Requires a Shelly Bypass 1L/2L Gen3 to be installed next to the light, enabling control of bulbs greater than 5W.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: Connects to your home Wi-Fi network for remote control via the Shelly app or other smart home platforms.
  • Remote Control: Control devices remotely from anywhere with an internet connection using the Shelly app.
  • Voice Control: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice commands.
  • Scheduling and Automation: Supports timers and routines (e.g., schedule lights to turn on/off at specific times).
  • Compatibility:
    • Designed and tested for compatibility with a wide range of lights.
    • Works with voltages from 220–240 VAC.
  • Compact Design: Fits easily into standard electrical boxes and behind switches.
  • Protection: Equipped with an internal temperature sensor for overheating protection.
  • Local and Remote Access: Control devices both locally (same Wi-Fi) and remotely (via internet).
  • OTA Updates: Receives over-the-air firmware updates for enhanced functionality and security.
  • Smart Home Ecosystems: Compatible with MQTT, Home Assistant, and more, making it versatile for smart home integration.
